Big, Beautiful Baseball

The Phillies are off tonight after sweeping the Braves in three games and winning 10 straight.  Up 6 games in the NL East, the Phillies Magic Number to clinch is down to 4 with 9 games to go.  The month of September has been amazing for this team; they are now poised to not only take the division, but earn home field advantage as well.  It won’t be long now before we see how the playoff picture will work out.

In the meantime, without any baseball to watch tonight, I was a little bored.  I started to think about the word “baseball” which somehow got me on a roll about baseball words that start with the letter “B.”  Have you ever noticed how many “B” words there are in this game?  Oh yes, I feel a list coming on….

“B” words directly related to the game:

And here are some “B” words you will find around most parks, some specific to Philly.  And some are stretching just a bit:

·        Broadcasters

·        Bell (as in, Liberty Bell in centerfield)

·        Broad Street

·        Billboards

·        Bull’s BBQ

·        Big screen (Phantavision)

·        Banners

Ok, I have to draw the line at Werth’s Beard.  Can you think of any I missed?  Feel free to comment below.  Also feel free to let me know that I officially have no life, since I had time to think of all that ;o)

With havin so much content do you ever run into any problems of plagorism or copyright infringement?
My blog has a lot of exclusive content I’ve either authored myself or outsourced but it looks like a lot of it is popping it up all over the internet without my permission. Do you know any methods to help prevent content from being stolen? I’d certainly appreciate

In response to your question, yes, I do also run into this problem. Usually if you contact the web master of the page where the items are posted and ask them to cease and desist, many will oblige for fear of legal action. But many will not… Here is a good web site about this issue which offers a number of very good tips:

Also, I see you have a photo booth business. I also have a photo page here: You’ll notice that all of my photos have a copyright watermark stamp. I also use this method on my Phillies Phollowers page for photos I’ve taken myself. There are a number of sites and software you can get to do this…I use Photoshop Elements. I actually got an email once from a photo lab who saw the copyright on one of my photos that someone tried to print; the employee googled me and asked me to call her to see if I had given that person permission. So this does work. It is a little tricky trying to find a balance between making it obvious that this is copyrighted material and not totally disrupting the photo at the same time, but it is a good way to protect your interests.

    Hope that helps :O)
